tree brewing turns 20!

20!  that's almost old enough to drink in the u.s.!

2016 marks a milestone for us and we will be celebrating all year long with...well....BEER! From crafting new releases and Seasonal offerings, to celebrating at events we hope to share a beer or two with you along the way.

INTRODUCING CHEF STUART KLASSEN!

With over 30 years of experience in the culinary industry, Stuart Klassen joined The Tree Brewing Beer Institute team in December 2015 as Executive Chef.  Chef Klassen now oversees all aspects of The Tree Brewing Beer Institute’s entire culinary program with an emphasis on delivering great food to match with our distinct brews. 
 
With a menu focused on offering handcrafted artisan pizza to artfully pair with each of our beers, Chef Klassen incorporates beer mash from the brewing process into the fresh dough crust of each ‘spent grain’ pizza.  In addition, Chef Klassen uses beer as an inspiration to develop numerous other menu items to pair with our distinct brews such as braising meats, developing beer salts and syrups or creating beer cheese sauce to explore the world of beer and food pairing in a fun, casual way.
 
Chef Klassen’s list of achievements include attending the prestigious Cordon Bleu San Francisco in 2008, to being voted the Okanagan’s Chef of The Year in 2012, to serving as President of The Okanagan Chef’s Association from 2012-2014.  His career has taken him from Whistler to Vancouver to The Okanagan as an Executive Chef for Marriott Pinnacle in Downtown Vancouver, to Hilton Hotels and most recently at The Delta Grand Okanagan in Kelowna.  An instructor of Culinary Arts at The Okanagan College, Chef Klassen has taken his passion and years of experience and channelled it towards shaping chefs in the community by offering training, leadership and mentorship.
