Central City Collaborates with Great Lakes Brewery on Peared Up Saison
Two of BC and Ontario’s best breweries juice up on Trans-Canada collaboration

Surrey, BC & Toronto, ON, Canada – Surrey’s Central City Brewers + Distillers is working together with Toronto’s Great Lakes Brewery on a juicy seasonal collaboration, Peared Up Saison.

Peared Up Saison marks the first time the two award-winning breweries have collaborated together on a seasonal release. It is a single hopped saison brewed with Jarrylo Hops and real pear juice. The hops bring out a natural banana, pear and citrus spice flavour in this light and sessionable ale. The natural hop flavour is augmented with pear juice in the brew for a fruit-infused flavour experience.

“We were looking to create a light summer sessionable ale that can be enjoyed while people are out and about having fun under the sun,” says Gary Lohin, brewmaster at Central City Brewers + Distillers. “When the opportunity came up to collaborate with the award-winning Great Lakes Brewery, one of Toronto’s oldest breweries, we couldn’t pass up the chance to work with them on this pear saison.”

“We travelled across Canada to the west coast to find a like-minded brewery and Central City’s reputation for making award-winning, great tasting beers just made this collaboration a no-brainer,” says Mike Lackey, head brewer at Great Lakes Brewery. “Our goal was to brew a refreshing, seasonal beer that can be equally enjoyable on the Ontario lakes in cottage country, or on the North Shore mountains after a grinding hike.”

The Peared Up Saison (5% ABV) is available in 650 ml bottles in BC and Alberta liquor stores by end of July.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mt. Begbie Brewing Co. Releases White Knuckle, Belgian White IPA
July 16, 2016 - Revelstoke, B.C. - On Friday July 15th , Mt. Begbie Brewing Co. bottled White Knuckle Belgian White IPA.  Formerly a seasonal draft, this is the first time the beer has been bottled by the company.  White Knuckle Belgian W.I.P.A. (White India Pale Ale) is a hybrid ale combining Belgian wheat beer and American IPA. WIPA’s are a relatively new style of beer and are quickly becoming popular for BC brewers.

The Belgian yeast and wheat give the beer a familiar WIT beer aroma and flavour, combined with the dank North West hops which introduce the familiar IPA flavours and aromas. The blend is well balanced with multiple layers of flavour due to the addition of coriander, chamomile, lemon and orange peel.
  40 IBU, 5.6% ABV sold in a 650mL bottle.
Mt Begbie Brewing Co. Revelstoke, B.C. has been brewing award winning beer since 1996.

STEAMWORKS KILLER CUCUMBER ALE IS BACK WITH A VENGEANCE

About Steamworks Brewing Company:  Named after the steam that flows through and powers its Burnaby brewery & flagship brewpub in Gastown, Steamworks proudly brews distinct, flavourful and award-winning craft beers.
STEAMWORKS KILLER CUCUMBER ALE IS BACK WITH A VENGEANCE

A Steamworks cult classic craft concoction has returned for another summer! Steamworks is bringing back their uniquely refreshing Killer Cucumber Ale. Previously sold as a 6-pack, the product returns as a tall-can, a convenient format for summer fun.

This light summer ale is "dry hopped" with cucumbers in the conditioning vessel. Wheat malts combine with citrusy and earthy hops to support the refreshing cucumber nose and palate. Belgian yeast rounds out the profile with a hint of apricot and black pepper, while high carbonation and a medium-light body add a thirst-quenching finish.

The beer will be available in very limited quantities in private liquor stores, on-tap in select bars and restaurants and at the Steamworks brewery & taproom at 3845 William St in Burnaby, as well as Steamworks' gastown Brewpub.
