We hope everyone had a safe and happy long weekend! This August, we will be releasing the second Brewer's Reserve beer: a barrel aged rye saison. This farmhouse-style beer was brewed with Canadian malted rye and aged in a mixture of French and American oak barrels for 8 months. The result is a funky, lightly tart and full bodied saison. Just 100 cases will go out across BC, so make sure to grab one if you spot it at a store near you!

Ryder Hesjedal's Tour De Victoria ride day takes place on Sunday August 21st. Whether you're participating or spectating, make sure to make your way to Warf street in front of the Parliament buildings for the Spinnakers beer garden, food stations, games and activities for the whole family!  Pick up a 6-pack of our Tour de Victoria Kolsch, $1 from each one sold goes to the TDV charity.

Chef Ali hosts the 2016 Les Dames Summerdine on August 10th. The now sold out event will feature four courses, a cider tasting, and a truffle & beer sample pack as a parting gift.

Well hello, August! Summer is in full swing in Seattle. There are a myriad of cultural events, such as Seafair, the  HotSpot on the waterfront and Seattle Art Museum's Graphic Masters exhibit, along with 400 beautiful parks to visit. It's true: there's no place like Seattle in the summer.

Before summer ends remember to bring Pike Space Needle Golden IPA with you on an adventure and share a photo using #SpaceNeedleIPA. The winning entry receives an Iconic Seattle Weekend. Check out the entries and get inspired at PikeSpaceNeedleIPA.com.

Although it's still too early to really think about fall, it's worth noting that tickets for PIKETOBERFEST are now on sale. This beer, charcuterie and harvest festival takes place on Saturday, October 1 at Pike Brewing Company and benefits Pike Place Market Foundation. And while we're at it, have you booked your holiday party at The Pike Pub yet? Spots are going fast for one of the most unique and beer centric private event spaces in Seattle.

Cheers!

BeerReleaseBEER RELEASE: PIKE NO. 4 SESSION IPA

Pike No.4 Session IPA delivers well balanced hop flavors and aroma with a low ABV for summertime fun. This bright and floral session IPA is brewed with Skagit Valley Alba malt and the Ales for ALS proprietary hop blend. Together these ingredients create a clean and bright beer with citrus and stone fruit flavors and aroma.

The beer's name, No. 4, commemorates Lou Gehrig's retired jersey number. Pike Brewing Company is proud to be one of seven Washington State breweries who've joined Ales for ALS. Pike No.4 Session IPA is Pike Brewing Company's summer seasonal beer release and will be available on draft and in 22 oz. dinner bottles throughout the summer.

Pike Brewing offers a tip of the hat to Loftus Ranches and Hopunion who created Ales for ALS, to Session IPA, summer seasonal, craft beer from Seattle's Pike Brewing Company Kraig Knutzen for growing our Alba barley and to Skagit Valley Malting for malting the barley.

Pike Brewing donates $1 per pint of No. 4 Session IPA sold in our pub and suggests the same donation for pubs, bars and restaurants who pour this seasonal release beer.
MALT VARIETIES: Skagit Valley Alba, Munich, Carapils and Club Wheat

HOP VARIETIES: Galena, Mosaic and ALS proprietary hop blend. Dry hopped twice with ALS proprietary hop blend.
IBU: 26
ABV: 4.20%
OG: 1.048
Pike No.4 Session IPA is available now as a seasonal release. You can find it in 22 oz. dinner bottles and on draft. Take a look here for stores, bars and restaurants that carry Pike Brewing Company beer.

KIRO's Jesse Jones with Charles Finkel
Everyone who has rated Pike Brewing Company and The Pike Pub on TripAdvisor. Thanks to you The Pike Pub has once again received their Certificate of Excellence for "Consistently earning great reviews from travelers."

Interested in Pike Brewing's history, and how Charles has amassed such a world class collection of Breweriana? Hannah Carlson gives you a behind the scenes tour of Pike Brewing Company on PorchDrinking.com.

Most businesses get nervous when KIRO TV's Jesse Jones swings by. However we were thrilled when Jesse paid us a happy visit as part of his Eatin' & Livin' series. All we can say is: you don't want to get between Jesse and Pike's Bison Bacon Burger.
