there's a u.s. national ipa championship? i never knew! read all about it here only one of my favourites is still in it (hopefully in it to win it!) green flash west coast ipa some of my favourites (unbelieveably to me) went out in the first or second round ballast point big eye ipa deschutes inversion ipa stone brewing ipa southern tier ipa unfortunately central city's red racer went down in the first round to fat head's headhunter must try some of these ipas i mean, if people say they're better than my known faves, then maybe they're pretty good!

ballast point big eye india pale ale 6% from the bottle:  big eye india pale ale is an intensely hopped ipa.  we use exclusively american centennial hops to produce this robust beer.  a rush of floral and citrus hop notes are balanced perfectly with the toasty, toffee-like flavors of a superior blend of malted barley.  its full hop flavor is guaranteed to please the palate of the true beer enthusiast.  2002 world beer cup bronze medal winner in the american-style india pale category.  get the point! driftwood brewery fat tug ipa 7% from the bottle:  with an extreme power to tonnage ratio, this behemoth delivers a barge load of hops.  this unassuming 22 ounce bottle packs 80 ibus of unrelenting diesel power! let this fat tug pull you in slow and low to happy nirvana... yup, these two are some pretty hoppy numbers that makes me very happy!

the wonderful, the darned good, the pretty good and the also-rans of hopscotch, according to moi firstly, the beers i've had before and love, so i had them again! efes dark efes pilsner rogue yellow snow red truck limited steam moylans double ipa steamwhistle pilsner the wonderful: odell brewing ipa - 7% with simcoe and amarillo hops, out of colorado - this one has won awards, and i can see why! caldera ipa - 6.1% with cascade hops, out of oregon great divide double ipa - 85 ibs out of denver, colorado stone's ruination ipa - 7.7%, 120 ibus - the stuff of legends i tell ya, legends! stone's self-righteous ale - 8.7% - malty hoppy and makes you believe you could session it... but at 8.7% i think you'd hate yourself later if you did! smuttynose ipa - their single ipa - delightful and deliciously hoppy smuttynose big a ipa - their double ipa - just as delightful and even more hoppy... i might actually like the single better though... ballast amber ale - p...
