the humanity! as a lark i put not very good photos up of my beer-related tattoos on the craftbeer.com website and thought nothing further of it (stupid things i do while bored at work...) and now, they've chosen 32 of the top pics submitted (which thankfully both of my submissions are part of - my pics/tattoos weren't the worst) and are asking people to vote for their favourites in order to come up with a top ten list and i'm losing fairly badly how shameful how humiliating how annoying dammit!

the fourth stop on my little san francisco pub crawl and the last stop where i took any notes or photos was gestalt, a bike courier bar a couple of doors up 16th from monk's kettle totally down to earth food and decor i want to know how they came up with a vegan tuna melt... the vegan brats are amazing - i don't think any meat-eater could find fault with them (my very cocky notes read:  "i challenge any meat eater to NOT be satisfied by the vegan brats here.  challenge.  it's open.  name your price.  but be willing to LOSE!" - i think it is a very good thing this was the last of the notes i managed to take!) unfortunately they were out of my first two choices (wipeout ipa and tricerahops) so i went with one i've had before in a bottle, lagunitas hop stoopid delicious and oh so hoppy also quite a high alcohol percentage (which seemed to be the theme of my night - ouch!) stacey had the pilsner, alison had a weihenstephan (dark wheat) and alex went...

i'm going to san francisco in june! yay! i love s.f.! gots to get me some anchor steam, some 21st amendment and what else? not opening in time for my visit this year, but a place i'd like to check out next time i'm in town is the monk's kettle's new enterprise (they had me at 24 taps) anywhere else i need to check out?

my tattoo! and part of its inspiration!

lord almighty, i pub crawled last night and lived to tell the tale! okay, it was more of a meander, we only made it to four stops but the last one was so comfy and we had our own room, we decided to stop venturing out in the rain and just stay put that i think is the biggest difference between pub crawling in your twenties and doing it when you're a little older knowing that enjoying where you are is more important than checking off 12 pubs on your list! we started at 3 at anna's place for sushi and ipas (southern tier unearthly and howe sound devil's elbow) then hit the charlatan, where joy of joys they now have fat tug on tap! then the libra room, where i enjoyed the anchor steam and finally falconetti's, where we had the whole upstairs room to ourselves, and our own bartender - how could we possibly leave there? okay, well shortly before 2 we kicked ourselves out! good times, good friends, good beers does my heart and soul good!

look, i finally put up a shelf for my beer glassware and with it the anchor swag i got in the summer at the canada cup of beer!

good lord, i must really love beer cuz here i am, getting another beer inspired tattoo! this time is the anchor steam anchor and brewdog 's atlantic ipa label that have inspired me! so far the tattoo is just outlined and grey-washed colour to come after i find me a job!! photo to come after the tattoo stops flaking!
