i went to see evil dead the musical at the waterfront theatre last night what does this have to do with beer? well, they do sell beer at the waterfront theatre you know! not good beer, but its beer i had a granville island brockton oval ipa at intermission this poor beer barely deserves the right to call itself an ipa since they got taken over by mega bland brewers, all the gi beers have gone downhill but since i never really liked any of the other ones i'm most upset by the brockton oval's demise (don't get me wrong, their specialty brews out of the granville island plant are still good beers, its just their regular offerings brewed elsewhere that have suffered from macro-izing) anyway... back to the evil dead musical! i love me a musical especially when people dress up for the event not in their finery, i mean in costume! we used our intermission time wisely - we drank beer! we sat in the splatter zone aka an area totally covered in...

i love talking about the weather, i mean, who doesn't? what a fabulous weekend we just had here in vancouver gorgeously sunny, hot, hot, hot in fact, it was so darned nice i think i gave myself heat stroke playing in a softball tournament stupid, stupid but we won! even in full costume on saturday, my team managed to pull of a win in the C division! yay us! what does this have to do with beer? well, it does you know bridget and i filled the cooler with central city pale ale and ipa to try to bring a little craft beer to the people and hopefully make back enough money "lending" beers to others to cover some of our drinking over the weekend but... between the heat stroke and making it to the finals my drinking was severely limited and it appeared many other folks fell prey to the same issue i truly think going from winter straight into summer is not conducive to people's well-being we need a spring in the middle to acclimate! on the upside bridget...

my head, she aches! the folks at work suggest it may be related to all the beer i drank over the weekend i think they might be onto something! so far my vancouver craft beer week has been fabulous! definitely worth some head aching mornings! saturday's dead famous pub crawl, while not rocking my world as much as last year's four beers and a funeral did, was a very good time folks showed up in costume (famous dead people in case you didn't figure that out from the name of the crawl) and progressed through the crazy weather from cinema to yaletown brewpub to the backstage lounge to dockside, taking an aquabus between yaletown and granville island as far as i know, no one got stranded on the wrong side of the water! we were not accompanied by a band this year but did get serenaded at the backstage lounge by a balkan wedding band the dockside put on the hockey game for us and fed us a big bbq dinner and there were buttons! who doesn't love a button? i went dr...
