woohoo! i'm off to winterpeg for grey cup! i'm very interested in seeing what passes for "craft beer" at the sports bar in my hotel and at the "craft beer concert series" the city is running each night seeing as there are only two craft breweries in the whole province, i'm expecting some imports (fort garry and half pints) please, please, please, please let them be actual craft and not crafty! still, if they manage to serve actual craft beer in a province that only has two craft breweries, they will put vancouver to shame we have a zillion craft breweries (113 according to the craft brewers guild) and yet couldn't manage to offer any of them at grey cup events last year so, my fingers are crossed inside several pairs of mittens, but crossed! update: just looking at the beer list for the 150 taps at barley brothers stadium locatio n not the greatest list, but it has more options than i have hours to drink there, so i'll be fine ...

where, oh where, has good customer service gone? especially at places i keep trying to drink beer? you'd think that with all the competition out there, high odds of failure and the sort, that there would be a push to go back to the good old days of satisfying customers i have had a couple of highly unsatisfying moments that i just can't keep quiet about i hate giving bad reviews i usually go out of my way to avoid doing so but who am i really helping by doing that? not me, not you and ultimately not the establishment either because these are not laments about individual servers some of whom are excellent and others of whom really need to up their game, but that is a very different rant from this one no, this one is about management so, the last bit of preamble before i finally jump into it: i worked in retail back in highschool but i have never waited tables or slung beer for a living maybe i don't know what it's like on the other side of the equation b...

this seems far too appropriate as i begin my grey cup vacation i expect there will be far too much crappy beer at most events...

i am off to onterrible tomorrow i am excited to go to grey cup and to see my family but, what am i going to drink while i'm there? does anyone make a west coast ipa out there? will i be in hop withdrawal? i have already googled which lcbo stores carry the double trouble hops & robbers session ipa because i know i like that... and i'm lining up a tour of nickel brook brewing in burlington... but what else is there to drink?

let's go lions! i am very delighted that the bc lions won the 99th grey cup! and i was there to see it! woot! there were even beer choices other than budweiser for the game which almost makes up for choosing nickelback for the half time show
