Raspberry Wheat Ale

Cranberry Orange Wit
- 5% - 650mL

November 30th, 2015 - Say hello to our little friend! Scarfface is snow-packed with enough cranberry and citrus to make a bad guy feel good, and is a welcome break from the heavy winter ales.

Pouring a soft melon orange colour with a pillow white head, aromas of fresh oranges and fruity esters lead to a sweet orange wheat body, that finishes with a crisp cranberry tartness.

This seasonal brew is only available for a limited time from your preferred craft-focused private liquor store.  If you find yourself in our neck of the woods, come on down to the brewery for a free tasting this Thursday from 4-6.

Dead Frog Releases Two New Session Brews, Winter Mixer

Aldergrove, BC — Dead Frog Brewery is pleased to announce the release of its new Rocket Man Pale Ale and Cold Brew Red Ale, both of which are included in a new lineup for this year's Winter Mixer 12-pack.

The Rocket Man Pale is based on Dead Frog's popular limited release Rocket Man ESB. Although having the same stellar ingredients, it's lower in alcohol and bitterness to deliver a more sessionable beer drinking experience. Unlike many pale ales, the Rocket Man is dry-hopped for a distinct tropical fruit aroma while delivering a malt-forward flavour profile.

The Cold Brew Red Ale is Dead Frog's innovative take on a traditional red ale, offering a taste profile popular with British Columbians going into the holiday season. This ruby brew surprises with notes of chocolate and vanilla from the addition of chocolate malt and and cold-brewed Bourbon vanilla-infused red rooibos tea from The Tea Guy in North Vancouver.

"It's a challenge to come up with a session beer that has broad appeal, yet has character and is distinct enough to interest the craft beer drinker," said Steve Black, Dead Frog's head brewer. "The feedback we've been getting has been very positive, and I'm especially happy with the results of our second collaboration with The Tea Guy."
Rounding out Dead Frog's session beer offering in their new 2015 Winter Mixer is a Pilsner and The Classic Nut Brown Ale. Introduced to the public this April, Dead Frog's Pilsner is a hybrid Bavarian-Bohemian style with Czech and German hops, Pilsner malt, and a German yeast strain. Dead Frog's Nut Brown Ale is a north English-style brown ale with notes of chocolate and espresso that the brewery has been producing since it opened for business in 2006.

Unpasteurized and preservative-free Dead Frog beer is available on draught in select pubs, restaurants, and for growler fills at the brewery. Follow us on Twitter @DeadFrogBrewery for announcements on availability. Winter Mixers can be ordered from the LDB using SKU #661173, Cold Brew Red Ale 6-packs with SKU #642579, and Rocket Man 6-packs with SKU #499640.

DELICIOUSLY UNEXPECTED THINGS BREWING
THIS WINTER AT STEAMWORKS

(Vancouver, BC December 2nd, 2015)

This winter, nothing is as it seems at Steamworks Brewing Co. with the release of their new Winter White Stout. Yes, that's right. A white stout.

Steamworks' newest concoction boasts a rich body with roasted espresso and chocolate flavours appropriate for the dark winter months. However, drinkers will be forgiven for being a bit surprised when they actually see the beer, as it pours a beautiful light gold with a dense white head. Steamworks' Winter White Stout takes the rich typical stout flavours  imparted from oats and barley, but without the dark coloured, roasted malts traditionally used in a stout.  Instead, these roasted notes come from first aging the beer with whole espresso beans, and then with whole cacao beans.  The result is a deliciously unexpected brew perfect for the West Coast Winter.

Despite its unconventional appearance, the Winter White Stout is sure to please stout lovers and casual drinkers alike. Brewmaster Julia Hanlon has taken great care in sourcing high quality, local ingredients for this winter treat. The espresso beans are supplied by Pallet coffee roasters, an upstart small batch coffee roaster based in East Vancouver which takes great care in sourcing seasonal coffee beans from the best producers possible. While the whole Madagascar cacao beans are supplied by East Van Roasters. They operate a non-profit social enterprise providing training and employment to women residents of the Rainier hotel, while making delicious organic and ethically sourced chocolate.

Great beer starts with great ingredients." Says brewmaster Julia Hanlon, "..We wanted to work with local, independent suppliers that not only make exceptional quality ingredients, but also who are a big part of their community.  We found that with these two great companies, and to top it all off, they are our East Van neighbours."

This Imbibable embodiment of an oxymoron is now available in a 650ml format in private liquor stores across the province and on tap at the Steamworks brewpub, Steamworks tasting room and select locations across the lower mainland.
