not only will st. augustine's again play host to beernesday beginning this wednesday
they have a new live beer chart on their website
on it you can see what's on tap and how much of it is left
as in how fast you need to get over there to try something new or beloved
saunter, walk, run or sprint!

for those who weren't reading the blog last winter, you might not know what beernesday is
its a weekly gathering of folks who need a reason to get off their couches once the rain and dark of vancouver take us over and sap all the joy from our lives!
open to anyone who wants to join in
currently predominantly populated by my friends and friends of friends
we meet every wednesday (or as we call them, beernesdays) between 7 and 10ish
for beers and wings and (sometimes silly) conversation
i try new beers and take (sometimes legible) notes
others just enjoy the conviviality (and not-so-subtly mock my note-taking)
feel free to join in - every wednesday from september 14th until hockey play-offs

This is not news to anyone. But have you ruminated on just how large the gender gap is?  A 2018 survey by Nielsen-Harris  found American craft beer drinkers are 68.5 per cent male and 31.5 per cent female. Closer to home,  BeerMeBC’s 2018 survey  had those numbers at 71 and 29 per cent, with 0.32 per cent identifying as “other.” For those not so strong in the math department, that means that there are only three women drinking craft beer for every seven men. If you were a straight man looking for a date, you wouldn’t like those odds at all. And I can tell you, as one of those three women, it’s not much fun being outnumbered everywhere I go to enjoy my beloved craft beer, delightful as those seven men may be.
