Seriously though, beer is a great flavour enhancer in cooking and lends itself well to barbeque fare and summer side dishes.  The possibilities are endless, really. we've known it was coming but it's officially official that it is! Central City Brewers + Distillers has some exciting news! Central City is introducing a new Brewpub in the original Dix location at 871 Beatty Street. Central City is bringing an innovative casual brewpub experience offering unique BBQ and Burger culinary options, and lots of Central City and other BC Craft beers on-tap to downtown Vancouver.   Central City will launch at 871 Beatty Street, Vancouver this summer. i got to attend a backyard bbq and bottle share over the long weekend wanna see what we drank??     the two stand-outs for me were the breakside india golden ale and the double mountain devil's kriek tree's serendipity no. 8 was also stellar of the beers i regularly enjoy the gigantic ipa and driftwood 20 pounder continue to please me greatly! and i just can't say enough good things about the 2 towns hop and stalk cider i have one bottle of this baby left i want to save it for a special occasion, but i need to drink it soon! my life is really very difficult

labour day

boo! summer is almost over labour day approacheth me, i'm going out of town for the long weekend but if you're sticking around vancouver there are lots of fun things to do to end your summer on a high note one of which is the gastown bbq and chili festival there is lots of good beer to be had in gastown!
