beer column

my notes from yesterday's beer column on cbc's on the coast wherein i extolled the virtues of craft beer in vancouver stadiums and patted the pne and pacific coliseum on the back for being the first in the city to go craft: The PNE opened on Saturday. There are new food vendors this year, new exhibits... and new beer on tap!  And it's local craft beer! Craft beer at the PNE? Is this the beginning of a whole new era for the City?  Oh yes, please!   People have been lobbying the stadiums for the past couple of years to start carrying craft beer and the PNE / Pacific Coliseum is the first to make the switch. Parallel 49 signed a three year deal with the fair. You can get Gypsy Tears ale at the fair, which should pair very nicely with the mini donuts! And the Pacific Coliseum will be carrying Gypsy Tears as well as several other Parallel 49 offerings at all their events, including the Giants games. going back to moose's down under tonight to watch game 7! yay russell lemon ale! enjoying the game 5 win! moose's doesn't have the best beer list ever but for an aussie pub, its darned good and i really am a fan of the russell lemon ale! and they make a very mean nachos! go canucks go!

beernesday!

we had a beernesday this week! and stacy brought me dogfish head 60 minute ipa - yay! and before beernesday, i was at the railway club to watch game 1 of the stanley cup final where i drank the hop circle ipa and everyone else split their time between the ok 1516 special and phillips ginger beer

damned bandwagoners spoiling my perfectly good beer night

in the interests of fairness i give you a response from st. augustine's to my fuck you to them of yesterday because they will not take reservations during hockey play-offs but and you knew there'd be a but i feel compelled to add that i contacted st. augustine's back in september and had an email exchange with the very same anthony (who kept my email address from then and used it to send the response below) and very specifically said that we would want a table every single wednesday night from september through april and was that an issue for ufc fights or canucks games nights falling on a wednesday i was assured it would not be a problem and he'd mark down our standing reservation in the book now, our standing reservation never made it into the reservation book so we tooks our chances for a table or i had to remember every wednesday to call in which fortunately only made for some creative table acquiring rather than not being able to get a table but it was ...
