can i just tell you what a lucky gal i am? i went to not one but two christmas keggers on saturday! i love being a beer geek and knowing other beer geeks! the first party featured r&b's esb the second storm's scottish ale bliss!

its just not christmas without a photo of me with a keg! such style, such grace such fabulous scottish ale from storm! best keg deal in town and really great beer to boot! for all you of the christianish persuasion, merry christmas!!

at st. augustine's on beernesday, i tried the following beers: sampler: central city brewing red racer pumpkin ale:  5%  a lightly spiced pale ale layered with roasted pumpkin lost coast brewery raspberry brown ale:  6.5%  lost coast's award winning downtown brown ale, with its rich chocolate malt flavour, is enhanced with an infusion of real raspberries upright brewing six:  6.7%  a dark rye beer with layered flavors including chocolate, caramel, pepper, wood, cherry and tropical fruit.  it starts semi-dry and smooth and finishes fully dry and tart with a bite from the hops storm brewing scottish highland cream ale:  5%  this creamy, nutty, malty, dark ale is true to its scottish origins and is caramelized as the kettle is being filled i wanted to try the crannog ales 10th anniversary fresh-hopped ipa, but they were out of it... bottles: cannery brewing wildfire ipa:  6%  intensely dark and smooth.  this balck ipa ...

love the name "a wee angry scotch ale" and love the beer! wonderfully dark and malty pours with an insanely huge head on the vigourous pour wafts malty aroma but has a lovely hop bitterness about it 6.5% 30 ibus from the bottle:  "a wee angry scotch ale is part of the russell brewmaster series: a succession of small batch beers that push taste boundaries and explore new styles of beers.  this beer has been brewed with a blend of scottish specialty malts in the style of a 19th century 90 shilling scotch ale - a strong, dark ale with a dominant malt accent that originated in edinburugh.  this batch of beer was brewed by jack bensley, eric dubuc and anders mckinnon, russell brewing company, 2010.  russell brewing company has been brewing premium craft beer in british columbia since 1995.  our beer is 100% natural and has no preservatives.  we don't pasteurize which means that we don't kill the taste - you drink it the way it is brewed.  fanatic...

A "Wee Heavy" McRogue Returns NEWPORT, OR, September 10, 2010 - On October 1st, Rogue will bring an old favorite out of retirement after nearly a decade -- XS McRogue Scotch Ale. Unlike most Scottish Ales, which are light in color and body, McRogue Scotch Ale is a hearty brew, deep copper in color, with a caramel aroma, rich malty flavor and a roasted malt background. McRogue Scotch Ale originally debuted at the 1995 Oregon Brewers Festival.
