dead frog brewery does a major overhaul of its beers jan zeschky calls it dead frog's second coming i think its more like the third or fourth, but who's counting? "Dead Frog is dead. Long live Dead Frog!" i think we all knew it was just a matter of time before brewmaster tony dewald turned that place around er, well, we hoped anyway! and it sure looks like tony has succeeded where several other brewers before him did not no more pepper lime, no more mandarin no more anything except for the nut brown (which i have a very soft spot for - it was the first bc craft beer i had that resonated with me enough to make me search out more local brews and end up here, your humble blogger and beer blatherer - and i may or may not have a dead frog inspired beer tattoo commemorating that life-changing a-ha moment) no more clear glass sleemanesque bottles its a whole new world! i can't help rooting for dead frog even when they went down so many misguided paths th...

while i'm not a fan of the pepper lime i am a fan of several of their other beers and encourage all y'all to hit up dead frog's open house in abbotsford on the 21st when they launch the summer mixer which includes the pepper lime alas i will be working while all the fun happens someone please go enjoy a free sample for me!

i did it - i tried the new Pepper Lime lager from Dead Frog and i didn't like it.  which saddens me.  but there's nought i can do about it, i don't like it.  i even tried it twice, just to make sure. it pours a pale golden colour and has a great head... i just can't stand the chemically taste of the lime.  it reminds me too much of bud lime and the miller chill. i tried, i really tried.  i wanted to like it,  i really did. but i cannot tell a beer lie, i am not a fan of this lager.  but don't let my picky pants stop you from trying it.  like mikey, you might like it.
