you know its finally summer in vancouver when you've got a tan and you're too busy soaking up the rays to update your beer blog!
never fear though, i have still been drinking craft beer - lord help me if i'm ever too busy to be doing that

the electrical storm that we had on tuesday evening paired very nicely with the deschutes inversion ipa that i was drinking...

anyway, in real news, the cbc has chosen its beer columnist for the new beer segment that will be debuting in september as part of "on the coast" on cbc radio
and it's me!!!
every other tuesday at approximately 5:40 p.m. all bc residents can tune in to hear me wax poetic on the fabulousness of craft beer
and the rest of the world can catch it later on the cbc website
i'm very excited!

This is not news to anyone. But have you ruminated on just how large the gender gap is?  A 2018 survey by Nielsen-Harris  found American craft beer drinkers are 68.5 per cent male and 31.5 per cent female. Closer to home,  BeerMeBC’s 2018 survey  had those numbers at 71 and 29 per cent, with 0.32 per cent identifying as “other.” For those not so strong in the math department, that means that there are only three women drinking craft beer for every seven men. If you were a straight man looking for a date, you wouldn’t like those odds at all.
